So basically, viruses are not technically life, but how come they reproduce using hosts? It seems to me that anything that reproduces has some intention built into it, it doesn't just blindly reproduce itself.

What if viruses are a divinity's punishment for life on earth. For example, in the bible says god send disease to sinners.
