This has actually been a problem of mine for some time now. I understand things before the exam and immediately after I hand the exam to the supervisor, but in the meantime, I'll just do stupid shit and question my logical process just enough to fuck with myself into doing illogical shit.

Why are you not a Singularitarian? I hate the label, but is there any reason to think these calculations are off? Is there any reason to think that this trend is not going to continue? (in fact, the graph only counts 1900-2000, the current trend line is actually more steep than the one shown)

If moore's law continues for another 20 or 30 years, computers will be smarter than humans, and able to recursively self improve and create a singularity. Look at any of Ray Kurzweil's data/presentations and you will shit your pants.

The technological singularity will occur in the year 2045.
