Yeah, and it's largely going to suck until around 2025.

OP, what you really should do I describe your life and then highlight what makes it so shit to the point that you're willing to kill yourself. Then we can approach the problems as /sci/entists and improve your quality of life with suggestions on how to go about fixing those problems.

Trust me when I say you really, really wouldn't want to kill yourself if you knew what was coming.

^ That is most likely the best political/economic system. Minus the no anonymity.

A new and glorious dawn awaits

I suggest we terraform Mars and start our own society there.

Help a brother out, /sci/

I work in a research lab (currently undergrad) and my large lab shares 3 PCR machines.

I saw that one of the PCR programs was completed for 5 minutes or so, and I needed the machine. It's customary of everyone to take an empty pipette box and put the PCR tubes in the box for the person who had been using the machine before. So that's what I did.

Here's the problem--- and yes, I know I'm a fucking idiot etc. etc. etc., but I misread the log for the PCR machines and didn't catch the "HOT" labeled next to the machine letter.

So I simply took out the products and put my PCR tubes in. THEN I saw that "Hot" was written, and I kinda freaked and went back to my bench, got the Geiger counter, a shield for radioactive material and went back to the PCR machines.

I never did anything before with Hot PCR products, so I caught one of the grad students in the lab who helped me check my gloved hands and sent me along the way. (Of course some HBIC in the neighboring lab saw me and scolded me in front of everyone for carrying the box of Hot-PCR samples on the shield (?), still not sure what I got in trouble for because I couldn't fucking understand the lady)

I saw the person whom the products belonged to and he took care of the box/products, but I'm wondering if I'm fucked because I didn't use the shield at first. Anything like this happen before that you guys know of?
