WHY

Why should we learn Science? I can understand Math, to an extent. However, even then, it kind of drops off past like Pre-Calculus when you stop learning relevant shit.

But why do we praise people like Dawkins, Hawking, so on and so forth? Why do we spend so much time learning about what kills stars, how much % nitrogen is in the atmosphere of some random planet 50000000 light years away or whatever. What is the purpose of this?

There are so many more pressing issues, like the economy or shit on OUR planet that we should allocate resources too first and foremost before we waste billions of dollars funding theoretical bullshit that does nothing to actually and tangibly help our society.

What was before the big bang? Nothing? Then how did this all come into existence? You're telling me that some NOTHING reacted with some more NOTHING and then suddenly, EVERYTHING? That makes no sense.

Oh, and then after some explosion, we got perfect order in our universe. Order =/= Chaos, you should know that. Entropy states that stuff gets more and more chaotic over time. How does something that was supposedly the most chaotic event in the existence of time result in order then?

Alright so I was thinking

Maybe there was no lull of time before the Big Bang. This is what I was thinking. Okay so the Universe is expanding ridiculously fast. Eventually, its energy is going to slow down. All the shit inside of the Universe, Gravity, will pull it back. It will retract just as fast, if not faster, as it closes back down on itself.

It crashes in on itself in a couple more hundred billion years. With all that force of it caving in on itself, all of the matter in the Universe is condensed in the size of a tiny atom -- as it was before the Big Bang. Then, because it's so damn reactive, it explodes AGAIN and outward.

You see where I'm going with this? Just an infinite cycle of expansion, retraction, and explosions.

Can /sci/ give me some interesting real life applications of PDEs? I need an idea for a paper for college.
