I need a little bit of math help, and no this isn't homework.

Two people are rolling a different number of dice with different sides. I have calculated the possibility of each person obtaining each total from n to z where n is the number of dice and z is dice*(number of sides). Now how do I calculate the probability that a particular person will win?

Thanks!

How is the slope function of a fluctuating function called? How to find it? I'm asking because I want to be able to make the 'average' share price change curve.

Yeah. Because all 12 year olds set out to reform the theory of relativity and talk about Lagrangian mechanics at the age of 9.

Imagine that only 50% of the population needs to work to fulfill all the demanded needs of the entire population. How to provide the rest of the population with money if it doesn't work, because it won't be able to find a job? Will taxing those 50% and spreading the wealth work? What about inflation?

>me "Don't we need 75%?"
>girl "Yeah, since 50% is 25 micromolar, 75% should be 12.5"

Wait, what? If light is the fastest wouldn't everything else appear to slow down as you reach light speed?

Besides you can't speed anything under the speed of light to over the speed of light because the only thing that exists at light speed is light.

Please provide examples of quadratic equations which can't be solved by factoring, and always need the application of the quadratic formula.

http://www.thinkatheist.com/profiles/blogs/bill-nye-bood-in-texas-for

Bill Nye, the harmless children's edu-tainer known as "The Science Guy," managed to offend a select group of adults in Waco, Texas at a presentation, when he suggested that the moon does not emit light, but instead reflects the light of the sun.

But nothing got people as riled as when he brought up Genesis 1:16, which reads: "God made two great lights -- the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars."

The lesser light, he pointed out, is not a light at all, but only a reflector.

At this point, several people in the audience stormed out in fury. One woman yelled "We believe in God!" and left with three children, thus ensuring that people across America would read about the incident and conclude that Waco is as nutty as they'd always suspected.
