I'm about 70% sure OP is a denier trying to start a discussion of his delusional conspiracy theory, but anyway:
>it doesn't follow the scientific method!
a claim from people who saw a flowchart on the wall of their 6th grade science classroom and think that's The Scientific Method. you don't need to have a laboratory experiment to follow the method; all that's required is iterative cycles of gather evidence -> test hypothesis -> refine hypothesis. climate science, done properly, absolutely does follow the scientific method.
>it's not falsifiable!
you can attempt to falsify individual models or large-scale predictions quite easily by seeing how well they describe future changes. does the model accurately predict temperature changes? not falsified. does it fail to predict the trend? falsified.

a blog calling itself "Ideas and Data" is like a country calling itself a "People's Democratic Republic", by the way.

just because /pol/acks don't read, and therefore don't understand the concept of readability, doesn't mean that no other residents of this Peruvian birdwatching imageboard do either.

the right wing has been pushing for further subsidies of the fucking COAL INDUSTRY, which is in decline not because of any environmental movement but because of the shale gas boom. oh, and they're also the ones trying to literally ban public safety agencies from considering the effects of climate change or sea level rise when planning out natural hazards mitigation.
please stop making shit up.

look at you backpedal!
>yeah well the climate of this one city isn't conducive to the effect you mentioned, therefore the effect must not be real anywhere
there are more places to worry about than New York City, faggot.

NYC isn't a particularly cold or snowy place thanks to its coastal setting (~11 snow days per year, compared to ~30-60 in cities of similar latitude further inland) but even it has seen a marked increase in the severity of short-term snowfalls. did you know that six of the ten biggest snowstorms to hit NYC came after 2000? this from a record going back to 1869!
and if you look at total snowfall per year, New York's been getting dumped on far more frequently in recent decades than in the 50s and 60s.

like I said, this is already happening. you can deny it all you want, but throwing a tantrum won't make it any less real.

I'm quite thankful to have been reminded just how stupid most people are. being surrounded by people with two brain cells to rub together (even the undergraduates, bless their little hearts) has caused me to forget this.
by the way, you never answered >>9160716. did you ever finish undergrad?
