We dont know if the universe is deterministic yet. There are a number of plausabile probabiltiy based interpretations of QM

Peoples thinking is purpose based. They see something complicated (seemingly designed) and contemplate how it would be created. This is the same instinct that lets us understand how to use tools.

To early humans a great creator just made sense with their limited understanding

A great example of this elsewhere is the legends around the Giant's causeway before we understood the geology behind the formation

Stupid people exist in far greater numbers than intelligent people thus they controll the ratings

Stupid people dont notice the predictable main plot and choose to ignore the superfluous complications because they are used to everything being way over their heads

God is superfluous to understanding the universe just like unicorns and the easter bunny. Makes sense not to assume a whole bunch of strictly-possible-but-improbable things exists

This idea that people easily confused and unable to see sensible truths possess the virtue of "an open mind" is a peculiar one. What makes you think your open-mindedness is a good thing OP?

yep, the political power changes hands so quickly in the US that no individual or agency can be held accountable for long term trends

The groups that have the most long run effect on american leadership are the corporations that sponsor the politicians

Ok, but we'll have to clear some land for the protein rich vegatables and make sure nothing tries to eat them. That should only require wiping out 50-60% of animal species.

But what is a little genecide if we dont have to murder and eat some cute fluffy things

Hold on......
Do people here think the uncertainity principle disproves determinism?

You should know that it is only a principle regarding the restrictions in measurement. It doesnt state that particles dont have a set position and momentum.

There are valid causal interpretations of QM just as there are statistical ones. We just dont know which is correct yet

With powerful enough people creating propaganda a simple person can be confused.

Its only really an issue in the US where christianity denies evolution because there religion is run more as a bussiness and the people running the churches have the power (money) and motive to brainwash the believers

It depends if QM is deterministic. We dont know whether it is yet, so there could be some inherently random aspect to the human brain.

Whether this randomness is "free will" or not is a different question. If your actions are based somewhat on the roll of some cosmic dice aswell as past experience and the workings of you brain that does not necessarily mean you have any more contol.

True agnosticism is a religious belief.

When an idea (like a religious belief) is highly complex but completly unevidenced even from the base level we recognise that it is very unlikely.

We do not act as if we are utterly unsure of any other very unlikely possible situations. You (probably) dont carry a weapon with you at all time incase of zombies.

So the natual belief state is agnostic atheist (not believing in something before it can be seen to exist or appears likely)
