Who the fuck is talking about souls. Conciousness is just awareness, necessary for observation. Hence when we are unconscious we are unaware.

Before you post pictures of Hitchens you should perhaps you should read his books. He talks about conciousness as awareness quite a bit, I suggest Hitch-22.

Intelligence can be taught but there are limits to the intelligence reachable and different rates of learning depending on the genes. That why a monkey cant be trained to be as intelligent an average human

In the game A happens. Check GMod.

But if 'momentum in' (relative to Orange) = 'momentum out' (relative to Blue) then it will come out at the same speed the orange portal moves downwards.

/Sci/ has resolved this before but OPs just keeps posting it and samefagging a few posts that suggest it is 'obviously A' without providing and logical reasoning for the option. It tend to troll allot of people

what your teacher was misinterpretting was the autistic scale. It seems that very intelligent people lack the social skills of people at near average intelligence

This is called aspergers in the case of mild social symptoms and austism in the extreme cases

The common sense thing is only true in the case of severe autism. Most common sense is as rational as it is social

dont be silly, it would only be a lobsided collapse if the top had fallen during the horizontal impact. When beams fail or buckle normally the stuff they support just falls down, dragging anything it hits down with it.

The effect on the subsequent lower beams failing is due to something called shock-loading, where the force produced by the impact of moving masses is greater than the stationary load of the mass

This is all pretty basic engineering/physics

cannabis is addictive just like computer games, tv and food can be psychological addictions

you shouldnt say it is not addictive

neither should u say it is chemically addictive like tabacco or cocaine

Critical thinking taught alongside maths, english and science as a key subject with 3-4 hours a week age 14-18

This class should teach:
Basics of scientific method,
how to conduct a reasoned arguement,
how to verify information,
how to recognise falsified information or reasoning
the nature of bias and how to avoid exhibiting it.

I dont think reason is too hard for anyone mentally capable of learning and understanding it frees a person to make better decisions for themselves

3 blades was fine, they were better spread out and didnt clog up as fast. Quite a smart move by gillette tricking people into buying a new product that will cost them much more in the long run and doesnt offer much improvement for the feature that causes this increased cost.

the state of the current war is wrong ofc because it creates huge bloodshed out of nearly nothing. Being a soldier isnt wrong IMO because taking life is required in war but others believe taking life is always wrong, they have a right to voice their opinion.

However it is crass to mock a disabled persom

omg so much pseudoscience in this thread. It is to do with the instinct that allows us to make and use tools. We see a bunch of convienent objects that are perfect for us to use without us altering them (fruit is the classic example) and conclude they must have been designed just as our tools are.
