I don't understand what exactly you're asking for. If the question is: "how do I get from the definition of f to the integral expression?", here's a picture and an attempt at an answer.

The function 24xy looks like a saddle, the blue lines in the image are equal values of this function. since x and y range in [0,1], and their sum is 1, you can see that the limits for the integration are either "x from 0 to 1, y from 0 to 1-x", or "y from 0 to 1, x from 0 to 1-y". Hope that helps.
