This thread though.

It's really just a relic of vaginal formation. At some point a layer of tissue called the urogenital sinus develops into sinovaginal bulbs which fuse with Müllerian ducts. These bits develop into reproductive organs, the uterus uterine tubes, the cervix etc from the Müllerian ducts and the vagina from the sinovaginal bulbs. A small portion of the sinovaginal bulbs remain after perforation which we lovingly refer to as the hymen. Since embryonic development of lady parts are controlled by estrogen, the shape, thickness, coverage are also controlled by estrogen. Less estrogen more hymen evidently. This is most likely the equivalent to boys having tiny genitalia until puberty. Most women don't actually lose their hymens when they have sex; it just gets stretched out. Some women are born without one. It really appears to do nothing. Religious figures like to touch little girls.

Anything else?

Britfags of /sci/ that are knowledgeable about Uni's.

Which would you recommend:
Leicester - Genetics (Conditional)
Cardiff - Genetics (Conditional)
Nottingham - Rejected from Genetics, offered a place in Microbiology
Aberdeen - Genetics (Conditional)
King's - Genetics (Not yet responded)

My first choice was Nottingham, but, I'm dead-set on gentics, it made me realise that my second choices were not in a very clear rank.
I think possibly Cardiff and Leicester are joint top now.

In terms of academia, social and any other aspect you can think of... Help...
