The big issue with relativity (general) is that it makes forces to interact with nothing. Everything interacts trough this abstract medium called space-time that nobody really knows what the fuck is.
Its not intuitive, is just a weird solution based on the light speed limit, just because this mathematical and abstract solution agree somehow with the observation doesn't mean its right.
Quantum mechanics with all its weirdness, is actually a theory based on sensical interactions between real elements.
This is why every effort to bring GR into QT has failed, because the graviton should interact with empty space that somehow has substance and can exchange energy packs.
