Athens guy here. My sincerest thanks to all you guys that convinced me to go for Totality instead of just settling for 99%. It was incredible.

I drove 45 minutes - no traffic - and spent the day on some random lake. About 30 people showed up throughout the day. We played frisbee, one guy had a guitar, and had wine and cheese. Then, it happened.

It was so surreal and felt like the world was ending. I was half expecting Jesus to appear and trumpets to sound. The timing in my life is significant too, so the while thing felt like a death and rebirth into a brand new day.

I have some of you guys to thank for that! I don't visit /sci/ all that often but yall are pretty cool.
