Couldn't tell, I'm not a particle physicist. Wikipedia suggests the experimental observation announced by Brookhaven hasn't been reproduced yet.

Pic: a set of Russian Hall thrusters. They have been and are used for satellite attitude control. Source NASA again. Man, don't they look nice?

I have some guy (a teacher mind you) who continue to say that this systems can work in vacuum.

Do anybody have a link about serious experiences made by real scientific ?

The experience is so popular that google only give me "amateur" video, and nothing inside a vaccum chamber

Anyway, have some ionic thruster isn't if it's not really related.

Hey retarded fags, news flash vasimir is shit. It has less thrust per MW slower isp and more mass than a Hall effect thruster. They have been in space since 1971 and are ready to fly today. The only thing vasimr has over competing technology is public relations that get fools like you to drink the coolaid.
