The first one is the algebraic curve y-x^2=0, and the second one is y-x^3=0.
The intersection is given by y-x^3=y-x^2=0.
So we have y-x^3-y+x^2=0, y cancels out, x^3=x^2. Only solutions are x=0 and x=1.
