We are around or maybe even past the point where the number of electrical synapses and electrical transistors are the same. So why don't we have cool mind uploading and sentient AI?

Simple, people keep looking at it from a purely electrical perspective. But the brain uses more then just electricity for computing. In fact the when accounting for more complex computation methods believed to be used by the brain it makes any computer look truly pathetic.

There was one article in discovery magazine at least several years ago that went into a lot of detail about it, it included comparisons to other brains from animals (I remember a whale brain in the line up). It made a compelling case that the human brain is the best all around computational device.
The comparison to a computer is a bigger brain would have a lower Bus speed, a more powerful one would require even more food to power it, and a more faster one would require better cooling. That not to say a better brain could not be made for a specific setup, but ours is the best over all as it is balanced near the upper physical limit of what we believe can be done.
And before someone decides to OC their brain consider that permanent damage happens at around 106 F and the normal temperature around 99 F, with unstable thinking happening somewhere in the middle. Bottom line is don't try to augment your brain as you are more likely to get yourself killed or at least mess your self up bad.

You're saying humans should just be in the 'firefighting' business, fight the symptoms and not the cause? Food, space and poverty problems could be tackled by clever population controls, but is instead all accelerated unsustainably. You say that's part of being human? It seems pretty stupid tbh...

I need some help with this Op Res problem... My book sucks donkey balls...

1. Following is payoff matrix in terms of increase in votes to X(loss to Y) using three different strategies available to each player for advertising. Find optimal strategy to be adopted by X for the campaign and the number of votes X will gain with this strategy.

Candidate Y
Candidate X Strategy I II III
A 300 200 100
B 600 500 400
C 600 400 600
(a) (A, I), (C, II); Value of game = 400
(b) (B, II), (A, III); Value of game = 500
(c) (C, III), (B, II); Value of game = 300
(d) (C, I), (C, III); Value of game = 600

My math professor is going to fail me if I don't get an A on the calculus exam tomorrow.

I haven't studied and I don't know how to do calculus.

What do?
