I am for people paying for new/better/advanced courses, the problem with PhD is that it is supposed to be the highest academic degree. So it's just a slave paywall, "often a requirement for employment as a university professor, researcher, or scientist in many fields".

One word: Automaticity.

Open each book for TWO minutes, take a look, just load and unload, the transition is what already makes your brain tired. Do it everyday. Then you will skip a day and feel bad. Eventually opening the book, getting your pencil and paper isn't a big deal anymore, then you can surprise yourself with how easy it is to learn the stuff right in front of you. You have become resilient and imaginative, it becomes as automatic as typing "4chan" on your browser.
