What scientific evidence is there to support the theory that the moon of the Earth is actually an egg?

So I just realized something and I was curious what your opinion was, /sci/.

So the moon has shown up in lots of ancient myths and the like, and is often compared to the sun, right? Well I think that's got a lot to do with the moon and sun appearing to be the same size when viewed from Earth.

I was just wondering what you guys think the odds are that a natural satellite of a planet would take up the same amount of space in the sky as the star the planet was orbiting.

Drop two objects in a vacuum, the rate of acceleration will be the same no matter the difference in mass. Ok. Understood.

But drop those two objects on the moon, and the same thing is supposed to happen? Is the surface of the moon really a complete and total vacuum? There has to be SOME kind of resistance, like. . .dust or something, right? Is there anything that would affect their landings, even by microscopic amounts? Anything at all?
