>Our Sun is nothing special
>There are billions of stars just like it
>We found dozens of Earth-like exoplanets orbiting their stars inside the Goldilocks Zone that makes life viable

Meanwhile
>Out of all these Earth-like planets we found, Earth is actually the only one with a disproportionately large moon that we know of
>The Moon regulates the tides and is actually what makes the Earth unique in the Galaxy
>It is believed the conditions that led to the beginning of life on stagnant primordial pools were only possible due to the Moon's influence
The Moon is the real Mommy. If it wasn't for her we wouldn't be here at all.

why doesnt Earth have two moons?

The Greek philosopher Aristotle as well as the Roman historian Pliny the Elder both believed that the brain was greatly influenced by the moon because it is “the moistest” organ.
The Moon controls the waters of the Earth, so it is still hypothesized in modern times that it can control humans, who are about 80% made up of water.

If this does not convince every single one of you that free will does not exist, then there is no hope for you.

I'm working on a sci fi video game that tries to argue not necessarily paranormal, but to argue for a complexer notion of reality than a simple one.

However, I came across an area that actually bode into that para.

What is with the Moon? More specificallu how is the Moon able to be balanced with the Sun so that total *balanced* eclipses can occur?

That seems rediculously improbable from random chance. The Moon and the Sun should be a dime and a penny, not identical twins! That adds so much to Earth life compared to other planet life if so tho....

I think some aliens postioned the Moon to be an assistive mass entity that provides completely assistance to all life on Earth.

That's what I think.

Opinions appreciated.

Would a horizontal landing on the moon be possible? I'm talking about leaving lunar orbit and landing on an airstrip like the space shuttle. I don't care if it's impractical, I just want to know if it's possible. Ignoring all of the logistics of constructing an airstrip on the moon, is there anything stopping an airplane-style landing on the moon? Obviously, the near-vacuum conditions make wings not viable as sources of lift, but I reckon using monopropellant thrusters ought to be a suitable alternative. Is there anything I'm missing? Anything that would make this totally impossible?

Nigeria is sending an astronaut to space by 2030 and they have launched several satellites. Could Nigeria become one of the first countries to colonise space?

Can someone tell me why the FUCK we haven't landed on another celestial body since 1969?

I mean for fuck's sake, we landed on the moon before iPhones, before Sony Walkmans, before Michael Jackson - even before Led Zeppelin IV.

So why the FUCK haven't we landed on another planet/moon/whatever in all this time?

Bear with me on this. Can a privately bought telescope see the American landing site on the moon? The flag and stuff? If not, could a drone be modified to fly to the moon? I mean a privately owned drone? I have about 10 thousand dollars I would be willing to spend to confirm the moon landing. What would be the best way to do this, as a private citizen? I assume even a government drone couldn't make it to the moon without having the engines modified to function in a vacuum. Any options for 10k?

Would there be any legal issues with sending a private thing to the moon?

It's upside down and at a vastly different contrast, but that is most certainly the side of the moon facing us. You can tell by the Tycho crater. Picture of the back of the moon for comparison to come!

Say I had a few hundred Billion quid lying around and wanted to get to the Moon without the approval of Government, and without Richard Branson. Just a one way trip by myself.

How would I do it? And what would I have to overcome in terms of Gravity, Electrical storms, etc?

>inb4 Van Allen and radiation

I don't care if I die up there/on the way, that's a risk I'll take. I just want to know what I'm up against.

Thanks.

>In a drunk mood

>"The moon landing never happened!" etc

Why are people so annoying? What are some nice moon landing docu's where you don't have these shitheads? I love science, science fiction even but I hate conspiracy retards.

Also general /sci/ moon landing and shit thread
