Self-fulfilling prophecy and Pygmalion effects are causal loops. Oedipus unknowingly fulfilled a prophecy killing his father and marrying his mother. The three witches gave Macbeth a prophecy, eventually leading to his downfall.

Say you defined yourself as lazy and hung around burnouts, they would do nothing but affirm your laziness. Yet, if you defined yourself as productive, then hung around enthusiastic hard workers, they would encourage you and possibly even collaborate to ensure success. Tell me /sci/. Are there any other similar cognitive pitfalls or circular logic traps to look out for?

>get lazy
>contact future self
>he gives me his work and leaves
>in the future I end up forgetting to invent a time machine
What happens next?

>The Eternal ADHDoomer
Why is he made of paradoxes?

Is ADHD just contradicting yourself 24/7? How does anyone even escape this?

>by connecting two different points in time to one another causally
>hence the term "causal loop"
How would you connect two events causally?

Is it possible to get stuck in a causal loop through infinite/eternal regress?

But that's inevitable. Any smart person would have figured this out sooner or later, why does knowing the rules of the game imply lack of free will? Just because there are determinate laws and constraints doesn't mean I have any less of a choice

Just saw this lately:

And they make a very interesting hypothesis: atherosclerosis is due to an immune response to endotoxins in the blood due to leaky gut

What's your thoughts on this?
