Yeah, I should say that I didn't make this thread to call my professor a fag, I made it because it made me feel that very gut-wrenching secondhand embarassment you get sitting in an awkward silence.

They're fun to read about. Go ahead and share

Gen chem II is mostly just calculations and easy dirivations anyway. If I were you, I would be proactive, and try to work out all the problems and stuff beforehand, so all you need is the data when you go into the lab. If you don't, you're going to have to do it in the lab, and the professor obviously won't be able to help you. It'll go much faster, that way

But what about the case of a community college? I'm taking this class here over the summer because I overloaded myself with biomolecules and inorganic last semester, so I had to drop it.

I've been able to follow along with anything he's talking about because I took really good notes last semester at my university, not from his lessons

Like, I understand not having taught the class before, but you would think that they'd at least pretend to have a plan coming into it instead of just fucking winging it. How could they not have the problems worked out ahead of time? Isn't that why we pay them?

My story is being written as I post this.

>Be in summer calc III class
>Going over basic vector shit
>Professor doesn't have degree in math, but MS in math education
>Trying to do problem having to do with triple scalar product
>"I'm not sure what you'd use this for, but there it is"
>Goes on across the board writing all kinds of crazy shit, not able to prove the cross product he's trying to illustrate

I can hear the waver in his voice, in between the awkward pauses as he realizes he doesn't know what the fuck he's doing. I'm embarassed for him; it's worse than watching an episode of Louie

OH stretch is also a lot lower than carboxylic acid. Usually appears around 7-8 iirc, where carboxylic acid is around 12-14

Yeah, exactly. Everything you're posting is unfalsifiable bullshit that can't be tested. It's okay to be wrong about the magic EMdrive this guy made in his living room, maybe NASA will actually do it successfully one day, if it's worth anything, but this thread is done.

OP pls go

>Eigenstate
You know the Heisenberg uncertainty principle, right? An eigenstate applied to an object's momentum is pinning down that exact momentum at the time of observation, but having to sacrifice accuracy in some other area to make that observation, e.g. position

>wavefunction
A mathematical function of the probability something like an electron has of existing in a certain region of space. Where the function equals zero, there is no chance of finding the particle. Where it isn't zero, you find the particle. Simple.

>operators
Mathematical operations done on a set of coordinates to give you new coordinates. Group theory, point groups and symmetry elements all come to mind when I describe this, but it works for anything that is represented by dimensions, really.

>superposition
There is a box, which contains a cat. Cat might be alive, cat might be dead. Until you observe it, it could be either, so you treat it as such. Same with electron clouds until you observe them with a photon

I'd not that I need a programming language for something specific, so I'm bad at learning it anyhow.
It's just that I adore Martin-Löf type theory and would like to see people doing more logical stuff.
