The physical laws of the universe has led to organic molecules that are naturally selected for and have evolved to a point we recognize as "life". This life evolves more successfully when it takes valuable resources from other forms to improve its chances of surviving long enough to reproduce. After a long span of time, a majority of humans seem to have evolved this way, and as with all our traits it is reenacted on a world scale
