Oh, also, is there a way to make self-modifying code so I can just alter the class itself?

I'm writing an applet in java for my website. It's a simple game and I want to implement a high score board. I do not know how to make read/write data code for the applet.

I have an integer arraylist, and it stores all the scores as they're collected. I have a domain to host my applet's classes on, and I already have that set up. How do I read and write to that domain with the applet in order to display the top scores and save others?

Code, ideas, and general tom foolery would be much appreciated.
