people who believe this are stupid and one-dimensional.
I know I'm both. to some extent.

yeah and represent each element with its appropriate factor in the equation, I remember using Laplace Transforms to make it easier

I forgot how it goes, sorry, but I'm sure that link is relevant.

here you go.

I used to know how to do this.

there's a transfer function for mass, spring force and damping.

I'm looking it up, inb4 ban

congrats. you gonna need to work hard but it looks like you're set

how did you do it?

that doesn't mean it's bad to be normal, at least in some ways

you might want to post some problems for people to work on, you know.

this is one of my fetishes as well

long term though, and realistically, I just want to be able to securely stay home, have a good computer and whatever I want (musical equipment among others), eat good food, and browse /sci/, giving advice and enjoying a good laugh.

Not so bad. Everybody is like that, too. It didn't suddenly ruin your life, did it?

>> No.2718875 [View]

As soon as people let go of "life" and just rank things in terms of complexity, things will make more sense.

Nothing is "alive". We're only "alive" relative to how alive we think we are. We're just a pile of chemicals that's programmed to think it can think.

There you go. Getting pussy is vaginal sex.

Two girl friends a year for the last five years.

10 girls times... probably 100 times each.

1000

Seems pretty normal to me.

Yeah I didn't think so.

It's not like math... where a Doctor knows more than a Master knows more than a Bachelor.

Engineering stops at the BSc level. You just get the basic know-how and get experience.
Everything higher is just for teaching engineering.

Got it. Thanks guys. That pretty much means that engineering is the most, probably, secure or guaranteed job-degree thing out there.

All engineering jobs only require a BS degree. Is there any point in going any higher than that? Do you actually learn more/new things/more important things for jobs by getting a masters/PHD in Engineering?

Pic related - it probably took a bunch of engineers to build.

Yes.

Gravitational waves propagate at the speed of light.

How big is the universe? How long would it take gravity to affect something on the other side?

The bigger the universe, the weaker gravity gets.

>> No.2715700 [View]

wat

F = Gm1m2/r2

If r2 is 45 billion light years, then it doesn't matter how massive things are.

The only reason that the universe is less depressed is because it's bigger. Would Mars and Earth attract each other more if the universe was the size of the sun and they were therefore right next to each other?

Bigger universe = gravity is weaker.

If you join the Canadian forces, MD's get a $100,000 signing bonus and start at 50k per year. Each year, it increases by a lot and caps off at 120k per year.

Dentists make a lot, maybe more, in the CF too.

Engineers... quants... all the degrees that require intelligence.

Let me fix it:

Gravity is weak because the size of the balls on it are the same, but the trampoline is a ridiculous amount bigger than it was in the beginning. A basketball would depress a normal-sized trampoline a lot - but would that same basketball have the same effect on a trampoline the size of the USA?

>> No.2715622 [View]

Special Relativity:
The faster you go, the quicker things pass you by.

General relativity:
The universe is a trampoline. Things with mass depress that trampoline. Therefore, the universe is bumpy, and everything tends to the valleys.
