I've used an approximation for solar cells. I calculate the cell as a constant current device in parallel with an zener diode. It's a close enough approximation for me.

My two cents. My take would be to defend the position of "global warming is real (show graphs and other sciency stuff to prove point), but we can change it for the better without accepting the risk that we are the ones who started it. We are the stewards of this planet, our home, and we are the ones at the wheel. Drive away from the cliff first and argue driving style later."

I read that but didn't understand it very well. Thanks.

Thanks, but OP was wanting to know about the observable universe, not the age of the universe. Apparently there's some sort of weird thing going on with the curvature of the universe that can mess up a simple explanation.

>> No.4989017 [View]

Sorry about that. I'm the moron here. The universe is only 14billion years old. I was thinking you were trying to see something older than the universe. Again I totally derped on that. As far as answering your question, I have no idea. I'm sorry about giving you worthless information.

>> No.4988965 [View]

Because we can't. We can only see (maximum) about 14 billion light years because the universe is only 14 billion years old. If we could wait another 1 billion years, the maximum theoretical distance we could see is 15 billion light years away.

Recently I was walking in a forest. An old tree I happened to be walking by finally had enough breeze and fell over. It landed about 2 inches away from my feet. It made no sound.

I have no proof a god exists. What I do have is lots of evidence that biblical stories are as made up as the previous stories by other religions.
I can't falsely believe in a god just to save my skin because I would have no idea which god to believe in. Not believing in any god is just as dangerous as believing in the wrong god.

The walls of a microwave oven are a conductive metal. At microwave frequencies the walls are reflective like a mirror to light. Surrounding the door is a ferrite strip, and the door edges are built like a wave trap. The ferrite absorbs any energy that isn't reflected, and the wave trap reflects energy back into the cooking area. The holes in the front grating act like little shorted out antennas that are resonant at the microwave frequency used. This shorted antenna reflects the microwaves. Around the little holes there is an RF field, but drops off rapidly at a distance. The separation between the screen and the plexi is plenty far enough to be below safe levels.

You mean to tell me that the wire should have been a resistor like the image I posted? Fuck me. I almost had a new answer.

>>4906627
Holy shit, you're right. I completely missed the missing resistor on the top right side. It's been replaced with a short wire. Give me a minute to lick my wounds and come up with the correct answer.

>> No.4906620 [View]

>>4906607
Almost. You seem to have the right idea, but you forgot that the resistances are all equal, so the current splits evenly at each node. If one node has three connections, the current splits in thirds. If it has two node, it splits in half. The current splits through three nodes, then splits through two, then recombines in three nodes. This does work even for different resistors, but the current splits gt a little hairy.

>> No.4906603 [View]

Try adding a constant current source. Every time the current hits a node, the current divides by 3 equally. Using a known current through each resistor, you can calculate the total resistance by using Ohm's law. For example, at 1A the first three resistors have 1/3A flowing through them. They have a 2/3V drop. The next two resistors have 1/6A going through them. This gives them a 1/3V drop. The last three resistors have 1/3A flowing through them. This gives them a 2/3V drop. Adding all of the voltage drops together gives you 5/3V. Using Ohm's law, divide 5/3V by 1A. The total resistance is 1.666... ohms.

Change doors. The first time you picked one you had a 33.3% chance of a car. Now that one door has been revealed to have a goat, you chance rises to 50%. If you stay with the original door your chances of getting a car is still the original 33.3%
