The writing itself reminds me quite a bit of my Grandfather's handwriting; and would likely point to Catholic French Schooling. I had recalled where I saw similar script; but simply couldn't place it until now. Jean-Baptiste ?

(to be precise, it would be Canadian East Coast Catholicism.)

I was looking ages ago on older junk / money bonds etc. for CE and AF; but couldn't place them. I do recall seeing CE used before for a specific abreviation...

Hi Sea Clock in lieu of a Sextant....

I however don't know how to read either. ^_^

Gah... fastest way? blow up some munitions... cheap too. Already pre-made. That way we can test the drill a hole in an asteroid bit that people love so much. We don't even need to waste the money of putting nukes up there either. (which wouldn't be needed anymore, but oh well.)

See, it's not getting into space which is the important part; It's how long you want to be in space. 1000$+ per lb. is relatively cheap if you can more then double the life-expectancy of having a sustainable capsule.

The next problem is how do you make it profitable for the people who can't benefit from the enterprise? This is the "make it cheap to put stuff up there" approach, as well making a sustainable economic footprint within the economy. (in lieu of R&D)

After that, it's simply a couple nails and a hammer. (oh, and those 30 scientists of the right kind. I'm going with some russian mafia-types, just for fun.)

Even looking at the commercial approaches, you can see a telling value of how well certain companies will become space-farers.

PS: Just look at the tanking economy. We can get cheaper materials now. Simply stock-pile up the crap you need to use to build your lovely lil' fiery ball of salvation.

Traditionally, we go for it's function and call it "work".

I think the best explanation I ever heard was:

We think we know how this piece works.

It's shit logic. You can very well make a limit function to the chance of success of evolving pigs.

Just because lil' jimmy has a ball doesn't mean you have one on the mere account that there is another jimmy that you can see. Because you see Jimmy, it's obvious that you're Jimmy too....

The "infinite planet" drogue isn't of any use whatsoever in the computational value as there are already dictated as having different domains (or worlds) that counter the basis of chance computation of multiples. Adding the chance value (ie. roll the dice more times and multiply them together to get a phantasmal number of OMG!-ness it's so huge!) isn't possible in this scenario without first destroying the very domains that you created in order to bring the dawn of a new era of obese aliens.

Nifty question! You'd have to look at how the zipper connects to each other. (and ignore the material part for now. Outside of friction, that's a different question all together.)

As the pulling force is mostly going in a different direction then the attachment function, you would have a particular limit for which the rate could actually occur at.

A rough guess would be that the total force used to move the "zipper" portion would get divided up at least twice, and as such you would get to play with 2 values of angular momentum... So, at certain specific speeds, the changes would be sufficient to prevent the zipper from attaching, but at higher speeds, it may fix itself... ^_^

Run from the inner circle outwards. Taking the blue/red triangles, you can co-relate certain similar forms. So the "word" that is sideways in the inner section that is covered by a particular blue/red section will show up slightly modified around the circle that is on the opposite side...

Using the star quantities, and the "yellow thingies", you can also see a similar pattern, though it's less concise. (some kind of look like a mirror reflection, while others are not. A third type is a truncated value.)

I still want Pi to be magical though... and e. and phi....

You don't need the suit to absorb impacts exactly.

Relativistic quantum lock would do the trick. (would be fun too.. Superman's infinity punch would theoretically be stopped up to a certain sustainable point, as Stark would have all of matter to distribute the force. Bye-bye universe....)

The key isn't the component, but rather the function of the interaction of particles. Modify the phenomena that allows matter to pass through each other such that the impact source is more evenly distributed through the entire atomic structure of the suit, in lieu of a limited positional structure which affects the rest of the suit. Doing it this way, you could have an absorption rating much higher then the more traditional deflection and absorb methods. (say the first 5 layers of atoms respond to the impact interaction instead of the first 1 or two...)

*It's a sad and true story*. Somebody had Fortran training and was the most educated person in the subject because of it. He ended up being our teacher for a semester to teach programming. What a waste of a semester. A weeks worth of education, spread over 3, 4 months. We actually did manage to get into graphics on the last day. "This is how you put a pixel on a screen. Have a good summer!"

(it fit with the rest of grade 12. They put all the clases that required electives in the first semester.)

Aye, lab experience, or a way to build one. You can get some testing equipment, but nothing that'll be at the frontier. So many things are "patented" now as well.
Most of the materials that you want to hit on the fringe sections would be taken from you on account of patents and whatnot. It's kind of impossible to not use data that isn't owned by some other institution.

*shrugs* I've been bumped back into the "young adult" category 3 or 4 times now. The change far exceeds the rate at which I age. Heck, it's almost an exponential equation.
