I am aware of Stefan Boltzmann law, but you need a material of perfect emissivity to make half of the shit you are talking about.

Dunno about him, but I learned limits + principles of derivation/integration in a few days from watching Khan Academy and was able to do quite a bit of practice problems.
Think about this, you learn math from first grade to senior highschool. You didn't learn anything that you aren't able to learn in less then few months of real (=few hours a day) studying. Why would it be different with calc.

>yearly world production - 2500 tons
>a wild company with 10000 tons of gold appears
>not gonna affect the price at all

Look, it's awesome that it is x billions, but if you think you are going to sell it in any near time, you are going to lower the price. Significantly.

500 tons is nearly three times the world yearly production of platinum. If they intend it to be a single trip which will bring money over the next 10 years, okay. Otherwise, they want to sell the shit, and the only way to do it is by lowering the prices. Seriously, it's an awesome thing, why the fuck are spacefags ignoring this fact?

>implying that they'd be that expensive if they werent rare

He's arguing that abundance (or a lack of it) defines the price, not usability. They'd have to lower the price if they intend to sell enough of it to cover costs + get profit.

He was however a important figure in a company that took great ideas and reshaped them in a something that would actually sell. HP had a tablet in 2004 or so, yet it was not until iPad that we saw a new age of awesome tablets. I am by no means a Mac person, but if I had to chose, I'd chose Apple as a more important figure than HP in that event.

Subconsciousness is a weird thing. One night I made a mistake in an important paper, I wrote 05:30 instead of 06:30 (it was something about time). Next morning, I wake up, my clock at 05:28 and while I wonder what the fuck I realize the mistake (how in the what the hell), fix it and go back to sleep. Thanks brain.

I for one had no experience with linear algebra, I watched a good portion of Khan Academy videos and I feel quite confident in my ability to follow whatever they put in their program. After all, I can always dedicate few more ours to learn more math.

AFAIK it's the same thing taught to people who are physically there, recorded and posted online for later watching. It has homework and such that are required to pass. Only thing shitty is that you don't get anything meaningful if you pass - you get some certificate that you passed it, but it's honestly quite worthless, especially if you live 3000km away from Stanford.

Email I got recently:

Dear Siegfried,

We're excited you'll be joining us for Introduction to AI (ai-class.com) this fall! You are part of a community of over 130,000 students in more than 190 countries who have enrolled. Class begins October 10.

Our community speaks at least 150 different languages. It's really important that language not be a barrier to participating in this class. If you are multilingual, please consider volunteering to translate some of the lesson videos into other languages. Be advised this will be time consuming and will need to be done quickly (several hours of work per week). If you'd like more information or want to volunteer, please sign in to http://www.ai-class.com and go to 'Help Translate'.

We'll be upgrading ai-class.com over the next week to get ready for the class. Parts of the site may be down intermittently for these upgrades.

That's all for now. More information will be available on ai-class.com once the course starts.

See you in class!

Warmly,
Sebastian, Peter, and the AI Class team

Chill the fuck out. As long as you are as good as they are, you have nothing to worry about - they are jealous assholes. You have their smarts but you have even more, an interesting social life.
Gaining approval of people who are stuck up nerdy assholes isn't high on anybody's list of priorities.

Lectures count a LOT if you pay attention. I passed highschool with straight As only by paying attention/doing homework. And this wasn't a shitty school either. Downside is I have no work ethic and I'll probably fuck myself up in med school.
