I have a problem that im sure somehow math can help me solve, but i dont know how.

Im playing minecraft, which is a game consisting of cubes that you mine/place to build things with. The entire thing is basically a large three dimensional grid.

I want to build a large sphere.

Its not that hard to make a serviceable dome, and then just copy it but upside down.

But this does not make a good enough sphere.

The problem i keep running into is, if you were to divide it into four hemispheres, you should be able to take the top and bottom hemispheres, and rotate the whole thing 90 degrees, and have it be an exact copy of the left or right hemispheres. But that just doesn't happen.

So is there some easy way to use math to make a sphere out of a grid of cubes that is not only symmetrical top to bottom but also symmetrical top to side?
