he's asking about representing spacetime visually.

the plane that is spacetime wouldn't just be under the mass in 3d

yeah i think /sci/ is continually degrading. i noticed this after the putnam problems of the day stopped being posted. /sci/ still has its moments though.

most boards now is just a bunch of shitposting with nuggets of humor and decent discussion.

knowing the proper definition of mass and even moment of inertia should be enough to answer your question OP

>> No.6833635 [View]

being confident with u-substitution will probably be enough to get you through the first unit.

trig substitution is also useful but can't always be applied.

partial fractions is a bitch and make sure you know how to pick your u and v values when you do integration by parts.

just do the homework for the section you're going to go to class for before that day, it'll help a lot.

you can do some high school stuff especially if you can demonstrate the concepts physically/visually.

college level i wouldn't expect it but there may be some concepts the kids could grasp.

ah word. plus i don't think most of /sci/ was capable of solving the problems, so the majority sort of killed it.

I couldn't begin to solve them, but scrolling through the thread and reading the discussion was always fun.

>faculty for physics department is small and chill
>a few weeks before semester starts my physics professor dies
>the chair of the department has to teach now
>he hasn't taught in a decade and it's just a casual clusterfuck

I'd be fine if the shit he assigned was from the book, but the material is hardly even close. everything comes off the top of his head.

Does anyone know of any good physics books that can help someone acquire the correct way to go about solving the problems?

My professor is practically useless and i feel my textbook doesn't go into great depth regarding the actual methods to solve problems.

didn't know joe rogan posts on /sci/

your chances of losing before choosing a door is 66%

which means the chances of you picking a goat is 2/3

Assuming you pick the goat since the odds are in that favor, the host will now show one of the doors that is definitely a goat.

Holding onto the fact that initially your odds of picking a got were 66%, we have to assume you've picked the goat, but now the 2nd goat has also been exposed.

so you now switch doors not so much because your odds of picking the car are higher (which is true) but because you're now leaving behind what was probably the other goat.
didnt this shit always used to be posted as troll threads?

understand the formal definition of a limit, then the formal definition of a derivative, then the formal definition of an integral and it all should come together.

>> No.6558008 [View]

there's logic applied and you'd probably recognize it if you looked at graphs that coincide with functions and their derivatives/integrals and so on.

Understanding the logic behind derivatives and would probably be an easy first step for someone trying to understand mathematical reasoning.
