Chemistry is applied physics just like biology is applied chemistry.

OP:
Oddly, this is in exactly the same order, with mathematicians being somewhere around 28, based on personal experience.

I want to major in Math. What kind of jobs can I get with a Math major? How difficult is it to be a successful Math undergrad?

more purity= more (creative) logic less remembering handwavy rules

therefore more purity needs higher IQ, less purity needs better memory

engineering is mostly newtonian physics (simple shit) and applied maths
but physics>all else

pic related

Hey, /sci/. First-time poster here. Anyways, I have to ask something before officially changing my major: How viable is the job market to someone with a degree in Mathematics? I am currently a Physics major, but thanks to legislation passed by my state, my school is being forced to drop that degree path.

Can a Mathematics undergraduate degree be used to get into an engineering graduate program? Would I be better off getting a degree in something like Mathematical Sciences?

The job-market question applies to both an undergraduate degree, as well as a graduate degree.

Hey /sci/.
I was just wondering, do you think would there be any advantages to adopting a new base number system?
I once heard someone say that a base-12 numerical system would be advantageous in mathematics for some reason I can't remember.
Math general I suppose.

you guis know that maths was considered a part of philosophy until the industrial revolution, and it is based on logic which ultimately comes from philosophy

Taking this picture into account, sociology influences human endeavors most directly. But I suppose something like human resource management and everything else that we do could be applied sociology. :S

> "I also wish to exclaim that the more people living on this planet, the better our lives will be as our lives are already enriched by most everyone around us and in our past.

>China, as an example has a population of 1.3 Billion, yet its total land area is roughly equal to the US, it is still able to feed its people, AND it still have vast regions of unpopulated desert.

>China is 73rd on the population density list, below Germany for example.

>If the world (land region) had the same population density as Germany (which is really quite low), then there could be around 34 billion people. In reality we should be able to have 1 trillion people on our land area, 20 trillion if we were to apply all our current technologies and take advantage of the vast sea surface, under sea regions, and under ground regions.

>The US actually has to import food from China because we have let our farms and waterways steadily decline over the past 40 years.

>So what exactly is the problem? What is the wall preventing us from having more kids?"

discuss.

Wait.. has /sci/ already forgotten its (previously) hourly tier thread where you basically had this, taken to the extreme?

Well i guess the important thing is that you've found a way to feel superior to everyone.

I always compare degrees depending on who could understand the other's books...
therefore math is best :P
