There was just a thread about silly things we've done while programming. It looks like it was taken down because it belonged on /g/.

So... ITT: Silly things we've done while doing math or science.

While programming, I once approximated the inverse tangent function before I had any clue that inverse trig functions existed. This was back in 6th grade I believe. I'm not sure whether I should consider myself clever or retarded.
