Hey there /sci/.
I'm an undergraduate who was allowed to pursue my own project in behavioral neuroscience but I've decided I don't think it justified the amount of animals I have to use. I had a very good relationship with this professor for over a year and now haven't talked to her for an entire semester after working in the lab on what would be my thesis over the summer. I hate doing this research because behavioral animal experiments are boring and sad but I know I'm throwing away a big oppurtunity. I'm also not sure if I want to go to grad school anymore. I think I should at least tell the professor I'm not interested anymore but I've been in this lab for over a year, learned a lot, and feel bad for throwing this away. I'm really just panicking and dealt with a lot of personal issues over the past few months but at the root of it I'm really just lazy.

If anyone has any advice that'd be great.

There are hundreds of people that have not posted a single post on 4chan(nel) ever that are reading this thread right now. I find this to be scary.

Anyone else have stories of having your ego checked in science or just a pain in the ass you've encountered? My PI's amazing because she responds this thoroughly in like half an hour but I just wish I could write better and not disappoint her.
