Visited my mom last week. Got drunk and made a fool of myself (again). Had a whinge (a "philosophical reflection"...) about how I wish I were never born. It's not just drunk ramblings but really what I believe. If baby jebus came to me before my birth and said do you want that womb lil nigga? - I'd say are you fucking retarded? Of course not. Who would even think that? Idiot.

But yet mamas do, or if not they think your birth is *my* benefit so tough luck lil nigga. Or, whoopsie where's the condom here comes a lil niglet!!! Oh shit niggie turned nigger he grown and he's got a complaint? Theres no principals office no council or elected official or grown Jebus or God to whinge at. Just your mother and what? Mommy mommy this shit sucks take it back!!!! What's she gonna do stuff you back in her womb? She can't do shit being born is for keeps.

You are FUCKED. Once born it's done. It's fucking *over* for you. You're a body with pain receptors with needs, with a fear of death and dying and pain and an inherent instinct to avoid anything that doesn't keep you living. You tell your mom this is FUCKED what's she gonna say, sorry? Nothing she can do, short of putting a bullet in your head - but even that won't erase the past. Being born plays for keeps, no take-backs. Once born you're fucked. No getting out of it.

The pejorative neologism ‘Neoplatonism,’ which has its origin in eighteenth-century German academic histories of ancient philosophy, cuts two ways.61 In supposing that the ‘Neoplatonism’ of Plotinus or of anyone after him is different from Plato’s philosophy, one necessarily supposes the obverse. That is, Plato’s philosophy must be viewed as containing none of the elements of Neoplatonism. This can mean one of two things. Just to take perhaps the most contentious example, it might be supposed that the positing of a fi rst principle of all above ‘being’ is Neoplatonic and emphatically not Platonic. In addition, Aristotle’s testimony that Plato identifi ed the Good with a fi rst principle of all named ‘One’ has to be discounted. The justifi cation for so doing is no doubt that the superordination of the Good and its identifi cation with the One constitute deviations from Plato’s true philosophy. But then, of course, only one who has independent access to what this is can be in a position to make this claim. As we will see in the next chapter, the only apparent vehicle for independent access is the dialogues. But to employ some dialogues to interpret others already implies a criterion of relevance, say, developmental ordering or theoretical cogency. But this brings us once again into question-begging territory.
