After getting past my initial disgust of this book while reading it it doesn't seem all that interesting. HH is just a pedo and lolita is just a dumbass kid. Does it become more shocking/interesting later in the book or is the rest also like this?

Currently only 70 pages in. I will read the rest of the book just want to set my expectations right.

huh, I've only read everything after. Wild Sheep Chase and Wind up Bird were alright. Gave up halfway with 1Q84.

Norwegian Wood is the only Murikami book I recommend to other people.

>Justice of Kings – Richard Swan
Personification of Law, The Emperors Justice slowly loses faith in system whilst investigating corruption in the outer provinces. 8/10
>Tyranny of Faith – Richard Swan
The slow inevitable collapse of an Empire as the systems of governance are shown to be corrupt and ineffectual. But also now eldritch horrors and Chaos trappings. 7/10.
>The Shadow of the Gods – John Gwynne
Norse inspired world, dead Gods, politics, revenge. 9/10
>The Hunger of the Gods – John Gwynne
The same but more dead Gods. 8.5/10
>Firemane Saga – King of Ashes/Queen of Storms/Master of Furies – Raymond E Feist
After 40+ Pug books something different. First book was promising. Strong characters, interesting politics, ready to see a Prince inherit his kingdom. Next two books just devolved into slop with absolutely no interesting pay off on any of the plot threads. Feist couldn’t help himself bringing in his usual idea of cosmic entities and his multiverse. 4/10
>Sword of Kaigen – M.L. Wang
Magic swordfighting Ninjas train to defend the Empire of not Nippon. Only picked up because goodreads lol. Twist is the government is lying to them. Had some interesting ideas in amongst the weeb trash. Author used -sama -kun -san so much that they got twitter cancelled and gave up writing this series. (not a joke) 4/10
>Dark Matter – Blake Crouch
What if there were alternate realities and you got cucked by a smarter version of yourself that fucks your wife better than you can. That’s the whole plot, apparently that pussy so good that infinite versions of the MC are trying to get back to it and kill each other fighting for it. Should have spent more time being Sliders with less cucking. 5/10

I’m trying to read a book I pirated on my iPad, it’s epub format and I’m using Apple Books. Some sections are missing, for example here where it should be showing a code section it just shows a kind of split in the page.

Is there any way to fix this?

really? cool, prosody is pretty tough for me because even tho i'm c2 certified, i'm still an eslfag and unfamiliar with some of the concepts.
>why not read in your native language
cuz i am not willing to pay big bucks for every book when its all available online in english. even though czech translators are pretty reputable i think

i havent read a lot in my life yet and i was wondering whether it would make sense to read a book or two on criticism before getting into more actual reading. or is it the other way around - do you have to have a lot of reading experience to understand and make use of knowledge you would gain by reading criticism books? thanks for any clarification

i'm looking for something to read over the summer, apart from the bible, that's non-negotiable. have not read almost anything significant in my life, looking for some based pieces, even more "mainstream". could even be some self improvement redpill. what would you recommend?
