why do you need a feckkin guide to read an author you dingus, he has a trilogy, those are the only 3 books of his that you would need to 'start somewhere' with (i.e. the first book of the trilogy)

just pick up the first book/play that catches your eye and fucking read that shit

my only subjective advice is to avoid 'dream of fair
to middling women' as your first taste of beckett

i found that with tom wolfe's prose u kind of have to imagine an excited 'visionary' type person talking while you read to make all his usage of italics and :::'s and elipses "work" in any meaningful way

before i did this i found it (his prose) obnoxious and still do to an extent

feel like the movement was great and what an experience it must have been, but there was a certain naivety to it that i found hard to get past at times

if you dont read often you probably wont like classic literature as it will bore you to death

cultivate your interest in lit and then go read all that shit

no. the way his work reads is just sort of boring. it feels like everything he'd had to say had already been said in a manner more beautiful/eloquent/profound/what have you, by his predecessors and contemporaries

i've always found camus' writing rather dull

don deLillo's writing is very boring
