How can one live in this world and not feel anxious?

I feel we all have in our minds how the weakest of our society are treated.

How can we see our fellow human beings be imprisoned, tortured, murdered, robbed, humiliated, made homeless and not feel anxious?

Could we have a world free of these things? Imagine a world where one didn’t have to worry about suffering these things from other human beings.

With the technology we are developing, I think we can live free of these things.

Sometimes Tarkovsky, as major deal of philosophy I'm reading, which isn't too often, puzzles and confuses too much. As I found, ethics is the most practical branch which I could actually read extensively.

How do I into deeper ethics, /lit/? I've read some Plato, Aristotle, Machiavelli's Prince (which was absolutely fkin garbage), Kierkegaard's Fear and Trembling, some chapters of Nietzsche's On the Genealogy of Morality and Kant's Grounding for the Metaphysics of Morals, finally Levinas' Ethics and Infinity. I really liked Kierkegaard and Levinas, is there more like them?

Had some interesting time with him last summer. I bought "Elephant" which is basically a collection of very similar short stories about middle class k-mart husband-wife/mother-son relationships, which are surprisingly relatable. "Whoever Was Using This Bed" and "Errand" were really really great
