well the whole book builds to one very concise climax that kind of undercuts much of the actions throughout the novel.

knowing the end makes reading the book very different. i think a more dynamic book holds intrinsic value at every step independent of the knowledge of what comes next.

i don't really like the end either.

i started it a year ago but only got about a hundred page before i had to quit because i kept getting distracted by so many blowjobs.

ok so a lot of people are just being silly in this thread

but i read all of the oz books when i was young. most are by baum, after he died a lady named thompson took over and did a good job.

they are both silly, creative and entertaining as well as containing real human conflicts that might seem surprisingly serious given the zany nature of the world.

i wouldn't hesitate to read them to a child. they are kind of perfect. magical enough to keep a kid interested but with a lot of substance.
