It's kinda hard to seperate a lot of shit from good in contemporary non-fiction without further peer review, since the publishers need to appeal to the stupidest possible buyer to actually sell something. Even if the title is slightly vague it might scare off a desperate family member on the day before Christmas.

Ah, but you see, this marketing in fact would be a great work of art in this post-modernistic, capitalistic world, symbolising both the decline of the public opinion of marginal changes in opinions of their seed, but also seek kind of despair/redemtion restart to world, where the bourgeois drop their schackles, seeing their offspring in a turmoil never to be witnessed since or again.

Hikkikomori and the NEET users of 4chan are the defining Lumpenproletariat of the digital age; alienated not only from capital but the entire social and public sphere but able to be provided with their basic needs (food, shelter, electricity) which have become trivial to provide in developed countries
the standard tragic postmodern american lumpen figure is the black gang member who has no real economic escape and thus must turn to drugs, crime, etcetera- No! what we see in the unemployed middle class youth is much worse in that they have none of the ties of community, none of the social experience afforded to the gangster- who in a way has as full a life as any bourgeois. The NEET has all the surface characteristics of a fairly well-off, middle-class lifestyle but is envious of the classical figures of poverty, the gangster, the junkie etcetera- these are men who lack even the connections for a life of petty crime which would of course be much more satisfying

the intolerant atmosphere of 4chan is symptomatic; the post-millennial generation of middle class white males which makes up the bulk of the site feel enormously disenfranchised by postmodern liberal politics- and rightfully so, to an extent; while there is a lot of stupid conservative blame put on these groups and liberals in general for economic conditions beyond their control, there is basically an entire generation of young men who were given no chance and no support in an incredibly traumatic time of cultural change- this new Lost Generation will be the ones to usher in whatever age comes after postmodernism and liberal capitalist democracy. They should already be proud of the culture they have collectively created in the frontier of virtual space, epitomized in 4chan
