The doc I worked with recommended Jung's red book as well as a lot of Ken Gilman, a psychiatrist who just shits on most of the medical research in the field. A specific article that comes to mind is him destroying a man who claimed haldol was neurotoxic

A CBT Practitioner's Guide to ACT: How to Bridge the Gap Between Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is one, most of what I have read is not literature. Rather, research and opinion pieces which I don't think are allowed on this board.

I am a 4th-year med student who is hopefully going into psych. Listen to this anon, focus on medicine until the third year. You already know a lot of the basics of analysis, look more into psychopharmacology with people like Carl Rogers and Ken Gilman. Good luck anon

yes, mmhmmm mhmmm mhmmm mhmm hmm hmm, yes indeed it is tiring to concern ourselves with these brainlets, they meander around our intellectual hovel at the window and steal phrases as to mimic us in play and leech off our brilliance. How trivial it all is to have to monitor such activities of lower frequency dwellers.

Why was Anna Sergeyevna such a slut?

>She was twirling in her fingers the thin stalk of some wild flower, her light shawl had slipped down to her elbows, and the broad grey ribbons of her hat hung over her bosom

You are partly right about the circle jerk that goes on when discussing something very deeply, trying to draw meaning, but people are making fun of you because you basically said " this book has been written for school kids to write essays for" and "there's nothing interesting to gain from analyzing this work".

It definitely wasn't written for school kids to write essays about it, that's pretty retarded, the reason it is in so many schools, is because it is a short, easy to read story about adolescence that has very obvious themes that run through it, as Holden is expressing the things around him as he sees them.

basically
>1. easy to read
>2. school kids can relate
>3. "easy" to dissect
>4. actually a pretty good book

If you don't like the book because you had to read it as a kid or you whatever the reason is fine, but you can't argue that it isn't a good book.

Morals are guided by the society that deems, whatever they are, to be valid, so when you are born in a christian based society as a kid and everyone is atheist now and still follows the moral practices of christian basically "treat people how you want to be treated", it is because they grew up learning that this way of behaving is beneficial to everyone.

I don't really believe in the christian God that says very specific rules that seem silly to us because they have some historical context that was used to control people back in the past, but I believe there probably is something that created the universe or something that is cosmic karma, something that rights things, something that makes us dream and acts in our unconscious which is why we have such terrible guilt like Raskolnikov or we are consumed by our conscience.

Don't fall into the fashion of the era, our morals are dictated by our growing up ( if you are like me and many other first world countries ) in a christian society and following the lingering sentiments that other people have lived by and impressed on us, when we lose base of moral slowly by the watering down of generations, how long does it take to ascent into savagery or blindness.

crime and punishment and other famous classical lit books under 300-400 pages are pretty good for beginners because they are the equivalent of game of thrones in the movie scene because nearly everyone who watches it agrees its the shit. If you think you are too much of a bitch to start that high up start by reading short stories or sci-fi genre books, you can just google the name of the book then type pdf, and just start reading it on your computer for like an hour, don't give up, visualize the story in your head like its a movie and what themes are being explored when shit happens bla bla bla.

https://libgen.pw

Russian lit is good for beginners, but essentially you can start small with short stories ( any are good ). The best way to find a book you might like is basically LURK, LURK LURK and LURK some more, go to the sci-fi threads and google the books people are talking about and see if it might be for you. Then dl it for free hehe...or go to a book store or order it.

If you're food, don't follow someone that is fat and most likely going to eat you, no matter what he promises. And also in the same token, the fat person will fuck the laborer who he bargained with because capitalist greed or some stupid shit. It is my favourite part of the movie but the beyond the basic morals of " this person is greedy and fuck you" it runs pretty dry imo.

" I wasn't mumbling, I was speaking clearly which you would have heard if it wasn't for your ears being overused in debauched nightclub activities. Also I said that your glasses don't suit you and your dress is disgusting, I suggest you visit /fa/ to get your life sorted out you vile wench, how dare you besmirch this Russian Lit section with your fogazzy shit, that fogazzy shit, i aint with, BRAP PAP PAP PAP" and then I would proceed to slap the bitch upside the head for having the gall to approach my safespace and proceed to post pictures of her I took as evidence of my social interactions so I don't disappoint dear mama for she had such high hopes for me after the death of father, she has been pestering me ever since to find a wife so that she might foster my children as her own, she has been so lonely and the winters seem to weigh ever more heavier on her, what shall I do if she falls to consumption, we have barely enough bread and the samovar is always empty, but who needs tea? and sugar!?!? the devil take it, what fancies!
