I loved Axiomatic (short story collection) but I didn't enjoy Quarantine so much.

Quarantine had some great moments, but also some dull moments, sometimes not explained clearly, and sometimes repetitive.

Should I just stick to Egan's short stories or should I try another of his novels?

I wanna have a good read and I'm looking for a book revolving around a mystery, preferably something that has a clever plot and to keep me sucked in.

Pic related is a good example that I read and is kind of what I'm looking for now.

Have fun wasting your time when you could be reading literary classics like Moby Dick and Grapes of Wrath.

Alternative (superior) route: don't read Pynchon.
