The purpose of this exercise was to demonstrate how foolish anyone who considers him to be an intellectual and deep thinker really is. Ironically enough DnE is neither deep nor edgy he simply uses large words to convey a message that is so generalized that one cannot disagree with it. The times he actually bothers to try to make a point the nonsense that comes out is unintelligible garbage. This is precisely the reason why I sound like him.

Kurt Vonnegut is a fantastic writer and I will explain to you why. As the previous anon mentioned his conventions may be childish but that is because he is attempting to convey a message to a populace that is indeed for the most part childish. The majority of individuals are either not willing or unable to put forth the thought necessary to "read between the lines". The more evident and "cheesy" conventions used by Vonnegut facilitate the transmission of his messages to a lazier and more inept audience. This is precisely why hipsters like him so much. Because they are worthless but feel like they are superior.
