The significance of fear is that is stops us from realizing that we are god.

The spiritual path is the journey on which we begin to wake up and realize we are god.

I'll tell you more if you want me to. This October I plan on denouncing materialism, to the best of my abilities, and embarking on a round-the-world travel adventure. I'm seeking an environment where social protocol is a secondary necessity... where I can experiment with whatever philosophical/ spiritual experience that I like.

Man, its not great at all..

The ideas may be there, by the linguistic structure is pure shit. Like, it makes me feel like english is your second language because you probably have a grade 9 reading/writing level (though you do have some abstract vocabulary in there). The paper is not confident whatsoever. I would suggest re-reading and comprehending the material at hand until you full understand it to the point that the formation of your ideas comes naturally, instead of in a chunky, "i-just-read-out-of-the-textbook" format.

Hobbes not only believes that there is a greater good or higher moral judgment, he believes that at a base level, all men are truly selfish individuals that wish only to pursue their own desires. This system of belief is referred to as psychological egoism. One could argue that if man is selfish and wants nothing more then to is to fulfill his desires, there is nothing to stop him from impending on others and taking what he or she wants. There are two systems of thought by Hobbes reasoning of what keeps man in line. The
first is what Hobbes refers to as Felicity, which is “A continual progress of the desire, from one object toanother.” (609). The second, and more important system is
the erecting of an absolute sovereign.

You still aren't addressing anons questions. Why do you immediately assume lack of compassion to be a 'horrible' thing, without being influenced by popular culture. Why is it wrong? Is it wrong?

As for pearls before swine, it think thats good advice for you as well. Use a little more theoretical thought, its liberating, and also allows you to find the fundamentals of the problem, which u continue to dance around.

Use the time you have left to be at peace with yourself and leave this spiritual world out of the picture.
If what you are saying is true, get off of 4chan immediately and do what you want to do with the time you have left (unless that happens to be browse on 4chan)

I will sometimes write down my thoughts about pressing issues, but do so on my computer.

I keep a dream journal. My dream recall is quite good, so the journal gives me a decent excuse to write 3-4 pages every day with no lack of inspiration.

Dude, I want to say keep doing what makes you feel happy, but I think it is also important for you to somehow try to understand that you are still very young and fairly unexposed to literature, the world around you, and the general sage that comes with age. I guess everyone has their own journey... but yours just happened to pop up in my /lit/ feed and piss me off.

OP, let me ask you this. Are you a conscious individual. Do you acknowledge the existence of your soul? Do you see that the world around you is a disgusting system based on fear instead of love?

Yes, reading books and watching videos is educating, but the only way you will truly start to understand the basis of philosophy is to ask questions....about everything. Everything everything everything. Why Why Why. Break everything down to fundamentals, and then some more.

The only thing that matters in all of existence is you and your mind. Free yourself from the information that every body else has told you to be true. You are god, and only you. We make a god out of everything except the only thing that matters: ourselves.

I think that this question was asked poorly, but still serves as a valid inquiry... What is considered a valuable life experience, with the ultimate goal being becoming a successful writer?

Success is a very relative term, as success can only be defined by the individual. What I am sensing from your question is that in your opinion, success is to become a popular writer, and that rustles my jimmies because it means you have your head up your ass.
