I just sighed. Do people on this site even actually understand/like art or do they just watch anime and parrot their pseudo-intellectual beliefs adamantly with confidence

goodnight

I understand it and think it does a good job of portraying that archetype. The feeling it elicits from me is consistent through each comic

Your question is based on an arbitrary premise. How do you define the "biggest" events? And isolating these occurrences into a list shows a misunderstanding of how things occur in reality. Everything counts, no matter how miniscule. Perhaps you should read up on chaos theory, butterfly effect, etc.

I don't understand the fascination with "Top 5"/"Top 10" lists...oversimplification, misunderstanding. . .

The people who attempt to disparage art threads are the same people who try to disparage tripcode users; abhorrent, thoughtless, petty men they are.

There has been recently, in a supposed reactionary backlash to Obama's perceived shortcomings, and the economic disparity/problems, a large wave of support for "conservative libertarian" ideology in the United States. I view this as dangerous to a disparaged lower/middle class. People are beginning to view economic problems as an effect of government. The unfortunate reality is that unfettered capitalism has allowed corporations to achieve unprecedented power. The most effective way to combat this is stringent government regulation of business. Those who succumb to the current libertarian ideology actually push for less government intervention; they ascribe to tired, unproven free-market doctrine. Consequently, they are giving corporate leaders the means to dig the graves of the middle and working classes.

When I was a young child, my brother and I would be left at home with a babysitter whenever my parents went out. My babysitter, a female neighbor, teenager, would bring us outside in the summertime night, and show us that slugs shrivel up when you pour salt on them. we shriveled many slugs.

Two "pop-philosophical" phenomena that get on my nerves:

1) the mentioning/referencing of relativism, ie, "but it's all relative, bro"- as if any rationally minded person doesn't understand that

2) the wave of libertarian conservatism in the US among young middle class white males, ie, "thats just the problem of the nanny state bro, we need to return to what our forefathers envisioned, except without a federal government. oh and end the fed. oh and government shouldn't regulate the economy at all. I know nothing about economics"

And so he misunderstood hyperbole/ironic tone.

I'm off to do some "real life things". have a good day, and don't get too bent up over this.
