I could understand your remark if it was intended to portray ruggedness, but typically "neck beards" are associated with basement dwellers.

Are those books mentioned rugged, or for basement dwellers?

I'm going on a road trip and I'll have some time on my hands, preferably to read. Which of these should I start first?

Into The Wild
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance
The Road

Keep in mind that this is a father-son road trip, and all of these books fit into the theme one way or another. Which book seems appropriate?

TFA was an incredibly easy read.
I wouldn't consider it something to wade through, but perhaps walk over, because the book is more like a puddle.

It sounds like many of you do not know what pantheism is.

For shame.

>> No.787210 [View]

Pantheist here.
Saying gods don't exist is equivalent to saying the universe doesn't exist.

Wow, the thread last a day without any responses.
Anyone?

Hopefully not this.

You all need to read this.

I've seen this pic far too many times, but every time I do, I get pissed off that Choke is even in the presence of Brave New World, Catcher in the Rye and 1984.

>Has not read Pygmy

I felt that that he was mediocre from reading Choke, decent when reading Fight Club, but I lost all respect from him when I read Pygmy. There is no excuse for such slop, intentional or not.

This.
I could not stress enough just how monumental this book has become. It is essential reading OP.

No actually, don't take my word. Read this instead.

What about it seems corny to you?

The book is pretty strange at times, but so are paranoid schizoids.

Just take my word for it. It is a delightfully weird novel, but not in a gimmicky sort of way.

Not yet, but I've got an interest in books about drugs. Would you recommend it?

COVOR ILLUSTRATION BY ADRIAN TOMINE

So, yes in fact. I'm surprised.

They have the right answer.

The Giver is a respectable novel, children's or otherwise.

I'll admit, it captured my attention at first; I was amused by the pigeon english. But that wore thin quickly. Instead, I read vivid depictions of an asian boy raping another blond headed brat in a matter that was merely disgusting, not funny.

I'm very tempted to burn this, but I think I'll piss on it instead.

Attention is not what I seek; an identity is what will satisfy me.
