I am working on a 2 stage turn-based strategy game for the computer, and I need help creating a story, as I have my hands full with programing. I'm going to green text as bullets

setting:
>slightly futuristic
>World War
>One "Pangea" contient
>Completely new countries no existing countries
>Your nation and Partner nation are on one side of pangea and enemy nation on other. with bunch of mini countries inbetween

Plot:
>Enemy Nation invades most of mini countries.
>you and partner country launch counter invasion.

Game Mechanics:
1st stage:
>hex-based grid
>like combat in Civ 5

2nd stage:
>box-based grid
>like combat in advance wars

The 1st stage would play like Civ 5 and the 2nd would be like Advance Wars.
I was thinking another mechanic would be the implementation of omniscient units, that would alter the 2nd stage's conditions and terms.

I just finished this for the first time, wow, I thought it was phenomenal.

I started admiring Gatsby, lovely parties, loads of guests and wealth, then when we found out he liked Daisy and did it all for her I came to feel sorry for him, then it delved into hatred of him, for his shady dealings and how he manipulated Daisy in front of Tom. But I went back to feeling sorry for him at his funeral.

One of my favourites. Awesome.

Your telling me, tripping up again, I started reading for enjoyment full-time about a year ago and started with some WH40k "books" (note: Glorified Fan-Fiction) and moved onto Dune, after Dune I picked up Gravity's Rainbow, I got about 40 pages in and quit. Anyone help me with some recommendations with books from Ancient Roman Empire? The Templars Crusade? Viking Invasions? Feudal Japan? Maybe something involving Roman and Greek gods too.

I'd prefer historically accurate but I don't want history textbook drivel. I wouldn't mind stuff like myths and exaggerations.

Any good recommendations? I know your usually good at non-fantasy requests.

I recently picked up a Terry Pratchett book, my very first, I thought I might as well start with the Discworld series seeing as it is his biggest work. I'm about halfway through (tCoM) now and I'm getting the idea it's quite humorous and character driven story.

Does this follow on through the other books and how are they structured? Do they follow the same characters?

Also, I have Quantum Thief (H.Rajaniemi) here and Elantris (B.Sanderson) Anyone read them and post some feedback?
