It was George RR Martin's manuscript on a Dance With Dragons.

This will of course ruin the publishing deadline and push it back another 8 months.

Thankyou all the same.

Lineup looks like Augustus as Pontifex Maximus, Column of Trajan, the Equestrian Statue of Marcus Aurelius, and finally Hadrians' Pantheon.

I dislike going out of chronological order.... but... eh.

Thanks again /lit/

Alright, so far I have confirmed is:

Trajan's Column, Augustus as Pontifex Maximus, and Marcus Aurelius.

I'm thinking of either using the Marcus Aurelius Equestrian or the Conquest and Clemency from the Constantine Arch. I'm a bit torn between the two...

I'll take a look at that. Its definitely a imposing building. Especially for a tomb.

Thank you.

I hadn't thought of that. But, is that really a symbol of Imperial power, or more of an architectural symbol of power?

I can sort of make a connection by way of its sheer size showing a relationship between Rome and the gods, but It might be a little flimsy.

Thanks though. You've given me a something to think on.

Hello /lit/ as one of the well read board on the internet, I was wondering if you can help me decide on two subjects for a paper.

I am in an art history class, and I need to use 4 examples of art to show that it was an expression of power by a Roman Emperor.

Currently I have Trajans Column, and Augustus as Pontifex Maximus as examples. I am leaning towards Marcus Aurelius or Cladius as Jupiter as my other two.

What say you /lit/? Any others you would suggest?

'Art Historians usually refer to the two long sides of the box as the "war side" and "peace side", but the two sides may represent the first and second parts of a single narrative.'

Just finished it this morning over breakfast.

Had some coffee, some eggs, toast.

I spit up my coffee at the last page.

God damn.

Part of me wants to hate Jim Butcher. The rest wants me to offer sexual favors for the next book.

Wow.

Picture related, what I'm going through waiting for the next novel.

I am Andrew Ryan, and I'm here to ask you a question. Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow? 'No!' says the man in Washington, 'It belongs to the poor.' 'No!' says the man in the Vatican, 'It belongs to God.' 'No!' says the man in Moscow, 'It belongs to everyone.' I rejected those answers; instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose... Rapture, a city where the artist would not fear the censor, where the scientist would not be bound by petty morality, Where the great would not be constrained by the small! And with the sweat of your brow, Rapture can become your city as well.
