By the way she's 24 years old, listens to metal, watches Rooster Teeth, and wrote a novel.

Would /lit/ fuck my English teacher? She's in the brown dress.

I asked her if she liked Ayn Rand. She hates Ayn Rand.

Literature is literature no matter how shitty it is. YA fiction is helpful when you're young. Fantasy and science fiction are nice when you want to try to expand your imagination.

John Green needs to stop writing YA and start writing material targeted towards adults. He's fucking 34, not 14. I think he has potential, as he's a smart guy and he's good at writing. His subject matter just sucks.

It's pretty boring.

I bought the first two Hyperion books at a thrift store over a year ago. I tried to get into it, but after about 150 pages I stopped. It's sitting somewhere in my house.

Should I try to read it again? I don't know.

Stay retarded, /lit/. I read the whole Hunger Games series, and it was pretty enjoyable up until the ending. Overall, it's a pretty good series I think.

Evening /lit/urgents.

What do you use for a bookmark? Did you make it yourself, or did you buy it? What bookmark should I use?

I hate sex scenes. I'm trying to read fucking science fiction, I don't want to hear about how "he sucked on her soft, supple and erect breasts" or some bullshit.

People throw the world troll around like it's nothing. Trolling is not something I do. It can be funny at times, but I don't do it, especially on a literature board, something I feel strongly for.

I contend that The Catcher in the Rye really was a good book. I know I'm going to get a lot of hate for that, but I truly believe that this was a masterpiece of the 20th century.

J.D. Salinger painted a picture with his words, and the way he wrote allowed you to really become Holden Caulfield. His use of stream-of-consciousness writing made it feel as if Holden's thought processes were actually yours.

The way he also describes most people as phonies is relevant in the world today, when most people are fake people. It was lesser in the 40s, when the story takes place, but today it's that way for nearly everyone you see.

This book was revolutionary, and it was a manifesto and a prophecy of the modern world. Its themes are still relevant after all these years, and I can truly say that The Catcher in the Rye changed my life. It's the most important book I've ever read.

Did anyone else used to steal books from their school library? I went to a small school so we didn't have those alarms that went off. You could literally just walk out of the library with a book and nobody would know.

Must have stolen a hundred books over the course of my high school career. Still have most of them too.

/lit/, what do you think of the opening paragraph to the second chapter of my novel?

Penis Man threw his coin purse at Lily. She was a stripper at the Fuzzy Ball Night Club. “I’m all out of fucking bills!” Penis Man shouted at the top of his longs as he threw one dollar coins at Lily, bruising her legs. Although he was named Penis Man, he was actually a giant walking vagina with long hair and tattoos all over him. Lily shook her red hair while taking off her clothes and said “Sod off ya bloody wanker!” She was from England or Wales, but they’re basically the same thing. “Stambaught, clean this shit up,” said Lily, who had just begun taking a huge shit inside of Penis Man’s vagina.

You aren't understanding that the people under Stalin's regime weren't living in a true totalitarian society. They were being slaughtered left and right. That's not totalitarianism.
