Controversial young author publishing a novel of gratuitous violence, you say?

Pic related.

OP I'm intrigued, what's the plot?

I didn't phrase my OP post correctly.

You know how good writing stems from experience? I know I'm young, so I'm looking to have these 'experiences' to look back on when I'm writing, so say if I'm writing about someone being high or whatever its not from descriptions I've read of people on drugs, but from actual experience.

Does it change your perspective on things at all?

Drugs & Writing, /lit/.

In your experience, do mind-altering substances help/hinder your creative potential/quality of your work? Do you think your writing would be better or worse if you did/didn't do drugs?

Basically I haven't done shit, and I want to so I can have that whole well of experience to draw from when writing. Is this a horrible terrible idea? What are the best drugs to help expand your creativity?

I'm talking laugh out loud literature.

Can /lit/ recommend me a novel that's actually sincerly funny? Something that will make me laugh out loud. There has to be one out there.

The only ones I can think of are Alphabet of Manliness and I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell, which /lit/ probably hates. I read Confederency of Dunces, the only people I picture laughing at that book are old English men with monacles and massive dusty bookshelves drinking bourbourn, the brownest of brown liqours.

And none of that 'dark comedy' bullshit either

Red bull and protein powder and shitty beer and testosterone coursed through my veins. I was fucking pumped. The sand was cold and I'm looking at this faggot gleaming, shrouded by a backdrop of tight firm asses.

I'm ready to knock this cunt out. He looks at me, all COME AT ME BRO, and I do. I come at him hard. I feel nothing but fury in me and I will fucking destroy this pussy ass out of towner.

My fists pump with the glory of a thousands UNTS from night clubs past. My pectorials ripple and I can feel the pussies getting wet around me. He does some tektonic shit, but it's no match, dog. He walks home, defeated.

Just another day at Jersey Shore.

It's a feature length screenplay about a disillusioned media studies teacher at a shitty public high school and his relationship with his junkie ex-child actor girlfriend. It's two stories told in one; sort of like an early episode of LOST with flashbacks. The flashbacks tell the story of the teacher graduating from University, moving to L.A. to pursue his passion in film/writing, and having reality basically bite him in the ass and tell him he's a failure at life.

Pic related, I'd love to cast him as the lead.

You know its an old book if there's those small unidentifiable stains on certain pages that are probably the remnants of crushed insects.

When I read new books I try to open the pages as little as possible to avoid creasing of the spine.
