Most adult citizens of western civilization are precisely ignorant and childish.
Is quite impressive the amount of people who suffer a Peter Pan syndrome these days.

Accept it, the 80s aren't going to come back.
Is over.

Fuck you, Martin!
You should burst like Mr. Creosote, you bastard. Your War of the Roses fanfiction almost fucked up dark fantasy forever like Twilight fucked up vampires and werewolves in literature.
I am glad your series is starting to sink like the Titanic.

I must confess I prefer science fiction over fantasy.
And also I must say I cannot stand the rabid fanboys who dwell into those genres but somehow I manage to withstand them.
What I consider not fair is a Mod banning someone because he doesn't like the writer what he loves, and this is one of the points of this thread.
I want to gather all the opinions (goo and bad) about Tolkien, as well as arguments why someone who should be banned for say he thinks this or that writer is bad or doesn't know how to write certain types of stories.

Hello there, /lit/erates.

I want to share with you something really funny what happened to me in /tg/. An Anon posted a thread about Tolkien being a GM which I replied with my opinion about him, saying he was a bad writer and he wasn't that influential to the development of Dungeons and Dragons as Jack Vance, Robert E. Howard, Fritz Leiber or Poul Anderson where.

I want to know how many of you, good /lit/erates, share my same opinion about Tolkien not being that good as some fanboys think.

For be the product of a bouncer's mind, is not bad.
Compared to other fantasy literature works, like the Dying Earth, Elric of Melnibone or Fafhrd and the Grey mouser series is a bit mediocre and poorly executed.

Hello there, /lit/erate people.
I have an existential question concerning to the pleasure of reading.
Let's say for X reasons you suffer a lesion on your head which damages certain areas of your brain. That brain damage made you unable to learn and understand abstract concepts with the consequence of not being able to read anything what is not non fiction.
How you will face this problem?
Just think about it, being able to enjoy The Simposium or Also spoke Zarathustra one day and the another almost unable to understand what the author is trying to say.
