I feel like a pseudo-hipster for choosing a couplet but "In a Station of the Metro" by Ezra Pound. I just love how the words sound, as well how easily an image is invoked, even for someone like myself who's never been in a subway station in their life.

Handwriting's easy to change. You'd be surprised how quickly you can make a change more natural than what you had before.

Sounds like a National Geographic Book

I for one have no qualms calling myself a hipster.

Ah, Magic the Gathering. The Brothers' War is probably the book I would most like to see be made into a movie, but sadly it never will.

The apparition of these faces in the crowd;
Petals on a wet, black bough.

Ironically, I can't stand Ezra Pound.

Why do kids raised on the backlash of third-wave feminism think they actually understand a movement they were bred to despise?

>> No.1314065 [View]

There's nothing wrong with it, OP. You're reading a book written 90 years ago by grammarians who want the language to never change, and any linguist will tell you that's not how language works.

Same reason one says "he makes" and "they make".
It's just the way English works.

/mɑnə/ is the way it's pronounced in Standard American English (can't speak for other dialects); the first syllable's vowel is pronounced just like the a in your picture's "bra".

I sometimes say /mænə/, with the first a sounding like the a in "trap"

Someone in a previous thread mentioned The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. I second it.
