Deus Ex > Great American Novel waiting to be written.

Honestly though, how can you set out to write a Great (with a capital G) novel? Aren't the best ones simply very good stories/novels that others happen to strongly sympathize/empathize with and thus create a feedback loop to greatness?

Best Christ analogy ever? Yes, I think so. It's an excellent commentary on the inevitable downfall of various communes/absolute freedom groups once they move beyond a small group of handpicked people and the inhuman aspects of living without personal boundaries. I also love how he doesn't reject money outright like hippies love to, but rather recognizes the brilliance of the concept.

Shh, that's the second part of existentialism that isn't covered in high school. No one here knows about that.

Nothing matters, all actions are inevitably insignificant, the only reason not to kill yourself is spite against a cold and uncaring universe.

Censorship is always bad.

Censoring things because of religion is even worse and if you give them an inch they will take a mile.

We both know there is only one solution to this: Crusade.

Indian Camp

Mid-tier
Hills like white elephants

High school-tier:

A farewell to arms.

Best popular series or best popular series?

>> No.746712 [View]

It was my childhood. Started with Deep Wizardry which I "borrowed" from my school library and never ended up giving back.

Later I read the 1st in the series which I felt was a disappointment, but the rest go from good to ok.

I actually own a Qu'ran. Read about 3 pages in and then said "fuck this", because there is no way Mohammad wrote it or even had a strong hand in it, the prose is too high level, too well educated and has the mark of highly organized religion. Which means it's no more holy then anything else which came out of the catholic church.

Well fuck Russia then. And it wouldn't be as bad if there weren't dozens of extraneous characters with similar names and their own nicknames.

>> No.744250 [View]

>Herp derp imma change to the nicknames of characters without telling the reader and everyone is going to have several nicknames

Seriously, shit gets ridiculous.

Also the entire plot can be summed up in one line:

The French ruin everything.
